BTS: Who is RM?

We here at ARMY Project 529 do all things in BTS fan chant order, so even as we work our way through this “Who Is…” series, that rule will apply. That means, the first BTS member we will start with is the one and only Kim Namjoon—our favorite brainy rapper.

Who is RM? Born Kim Namjoon on September 12, 1994, isn't your average “boy band” leader—he's the brains, the brawn, and the heart of BTS, and he’s got more talent in his little finger than most of us have in our whole body! He is a talented rapper, songwriter, and producer. His journey with BTS began when he was scouted by BigHit Entertainment at the age of 15, eventually joining the group in 2013.

Who is RM? An artist with profound and introspective themes, touching on topics like mental health, self-love, and social issues. RM's lyrics have resonated deeply with fans around the world, earning him admiration and respect as a powerful voice in the music industry.

Who is RM? Beyond his musical talents, RM is also known for his charismatic leadership and eloquent speaking skills. He often represents BTS in interviews, press conferences, and UNICEF campaigns, expressing the group's messages of love, positivity, and self-empowerment. And, fluent in English, Namjoon used his skills to be the interpreter for the group—a duty that became heavy when BTS took English-speaking countries by storm.
