BTS: Who is Jung Kook

I’m writing this blog post while feeling deprived of quality time with the one and only Jeon Jung Kook. I got so used to spending time with him on his live streams, but now that he is away, a happy part of my life seems to be missing. Luckily, we can go back and watch his recordings anytime we want until Jung Kook returns to us in June of 2025.

If you've been around K-Pop in the past few years, chances are you know who he is—but for those still scratching their heads and wondering who Jung Kook is, let me fill you in.

Jungkook was born September 1, 1997, making him the youngest member of BTS—the Golden Maknae. But don't let his age fool you; his talent is off the charts. He's a triple threat: singer, dancer, and even a pretty decent rapper when he wants to be. He’s famously great almost immediately at everything he tries. Boxing? Put him in a ring. Painting? Everything he creates would look great in a gallery. Cooking? He could feed an ARMY. Combine his natural abilities with the fact that he is highly competitive and you’ve got someone who often wins all the challenges the members face on Run BTS!.

The joy his brothers feel when they FINALLY defeat him in something is soothing to ARMY’s soul.

Whether he's belting out high notes in a ballad or dancing his ass off to a banger like “MIC Drop”, Jung Kook always brings his A game. And let's not forget his stage presence—he can play to the camera like a pro. He oozes charisma.

But Jung Kook isn't just a performer; he's also got a heart of gold. ARMY loves him not only for his talent but for his down-to-earth personality and sweet demeanor. He loves us—passionately. And that love is mutual. Whether through social media, Weverse Lives, or fan events when he’s promoting, JK does everything in his power to stay connected to ARMY and I know that he must miss us deeply during his hiatus. Again, that feeling is mutual.

Of course, being a member of BTS means living life in the spotlight, and Jung Kook handles it like the humble person he is. He's always gracious with fans and the media, and he's not afraid to show his goofy side, whether it's through silly selfies or playful antics with his bandmates. And that nose scrunch? Don’t even get me started. I love it so much that I made a video about it.

Jung Kook, the maknae of BTS, is loved fiercely by his fellow members. Their affection and care for their Kookie is a sight to behold, and it’s a type of love that we all want to have in our lives. And the beautiful thing is that he loves them back just as much. Just watch his reaction any time one of his brothers is upset or in pain—seeing them hurt makes him hurt.

So, who is Jung Kook from BTS? He's a powerhouse performer, a sweetheart, and an all-around awesome man. But most importantly, he's a key ingredient in the phenomenon that is BTS—and we're all lucky to be able to witness his talent firsthand. We can be proud to love and support such an amazing human ‘raised’ so well by the six who love him most.

Ambitious... multi-talented personality. He is good at everything either its music, dance, sports or arts. Despite his status, his words and actions in public in his heart he is still the boy with big eyes we saw him first. He has a huge and pure soul. It's really hard to put into words what Jung Kook means to me.... I think the smile on my face as I type these lines would tell you all... I picked him out right away! I loved his humor and how teasing he is, I saw myself in that too... His smile, that smile makes me numb... So genuine... JK is or was underestimated as the youngest member of BTS. He pulls you in with his cuteness, his charm and his laughter. But he has had a goal since starting with his brothers and silently put those steps into motion. While everyone thought not showing himself out in public or any content was him just giving up. I mean not that the majority of us wasn’t complaining about the late night cooking, drinking and karaoke sessions!
